Matrix 4

This movie would be harder to get off the ground because I think the producers said they won't produce another and the three main actors said they are done.  It was originally stated it was going to be a trilogy and it was, so where to go from there?  Also my thoughts might have been answered by the animatrix, which I've never seen, or the MMO which I never played.

Why a 4th?  #2 and #3 seems like 1 movie split in 2.  And it was shown in theaters like 6 months between the 2.  Neo died for our sins against the ever powerful smiths.  But what happened once Jesus died?  He rose from the dead, showed himself to his followers, became a religion.  But Neo didn't want to be Jesus.  But the oracle at the end of the 3rd movie said they might see Neo again.

So, how would a story line go?  What about seeing the first 5 matricies?  What about the one that was so perfect they lost entire crops?  What about the other 4?  What about the ones (if they exist) that Neo chose love over the world, or chose the world (and not both).  These 5 first versions don't have to be full movies...15 to 20 minutes each.  Maybe 1 or 2 of them as short as 5 minutes giving more time for maybe the 5th one which might be 45 minutes.  I don't know.

But what about continuing the story?  Neo probably lives but Trinity doesn't.  Do we really want to see Neo without Trinity?  Would Neo really want to live without Trinity?  Also the original cast isn't interested in returning and don't want a Neo and Trinity v2.0 like the oracle 2.0.  They handled the oracle v2.0 good.  But using the same logic outside the matrix wouldn't fit.

So, what's keeping the machines to keep their word?  The savior is dead.  The Smiths are dead.  The only one who isn't dead is the oracle.  But didn't she say she balances the program?  So the program still exists.  The humans didn't win the war.  The machines pretended to declare peace just so they could shut down the life support or something in the city.  They save enough humans like last time to repopulate.

So, we end up with a new Neo, a new Morpheus, and a new Trinity.  But now that there are no Smiths, Neo can become ultra powerful in this new lifetime.  The new Neo, or anyone else for that matter, should be complete opposites of the original cast so it's not a cheap redo.

In this version of the Matrix, it's not Morpheus who is looking for Neo, but Neo finds Morpheus.  Neo is someone who has conquerered the dream realm, is able to fly and do everything in dreams, but his mind is so far gone that he doesn't know what is real and what isn't.  So, when he's able to seperate himself from the matrix and go down the tube he thinks it's just a dream he's unable to wake up out of.

He meets the new Morpheus much sooner than the real Neo did, at a time when Morpheus isn't even trying to find "the one".  He gets Morpheus to "believe" because this new Neo has all these matrix "powers" "in real life" and doesn't need to be plugged into the matrix but can do it at will.

So, who's the main enemy of this new story?  What's the purpose?  The machines.  Not Smith.  The actual machines.  Neo is much more advanced in this version that killing them isn't a problem.  He's almost of god status where he can just think their demise and it happens.

That wouldn't make much of an interesting story if neo can just win at will.  So, how do the machines fight back?  Time.  That's their defense.  They are able to create a time rift that things just repeat over and over again, so even if Neo destroys all the machines, it will just repeat itself, allowing the machines to simply live forever (except when destroyed).  So the machines are living more of a linier time line and everyone else is repeating.

So the battle then becomes the machines trying to destroy Neo v7.0 before he "wakes up" out of the matrix, and Neo and supporting cast to realize "deja-vu" is happening over and over again and they must figure out how to stop it from happening.

How would this story end?  Depends if Matrix 4 will have a Matrix 5.  Matrix 4 the machines win yet again, but this time crippled.  The crops are lost, the machines are in such bad shape that they are actually the ones in hiding, repairing, figuring out what they did wrong and how to do it better.  So Matrix 5 would have a story line of the machines taking over the world again (never got to see this yet).

If Matrix 4 is over with, the humans win.  Neo is now elevated to the standing of a diety, but he doesn't care to be worshiped.  So, the "heaven" he builds himself is just his own world where he can continue to "live" and to "dream" and to be able to do as he pleases.

I personally prefer the machines going in hiding.  Even if a Matrix 5 isn't planned it allows a chance.
